Today was about optionals. Learning about this the second time around was much easier than the first time, but it really helped that I went through all the material properly and thoroughly this time instead of skipping over it. Handling nil is a really necessary part of programming these days. Golang doesn’t really do this very well and very much leaves things up to the developer to figure out or stumble upon.
Checkpoint 9 was an interesting challenge, that asked us to make a one line function that returns a random number. I was surprised when I found this easy to complete and was surprised by just how much of the content had stuck. Fun!
